Super Bowl XLVI Broadcast News

Thirty-second spots during Super Bowl XLVI are being sold for as much as $3.5 million.

The Super Bowl XLVI broadcast will be on NBC – Feb. 5, 2012 from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN

Kick off time is set to be 6:25 pm. (ET)

Madonna will headline the Bridgestone Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show. Madonna has partnered with a creative team from Cirque du Soleil, Jamie King, and multimedia artists from Moment Factory, to create a signature performance.

This year marks the fifth time Bridgestone Americas has sponsored the Super Bowl halftime show. The tire company's new brand campaign, fittingly titled "Time to Perform," will debut during the game.

Kelly Clarkson is set to perform the National Anthem for Super Bowl XLVI. Since Christina Aguilera flubbed the lyrics during last year's game, the former American Idol winner faces the task of singing the opening song with the correct lyrics.

Neilsen Ratings 2011

According to preliminary results from The Nielsen Company, last night’s broadcast of Super Bowl XLV on FOX had an average audience of 111 million viewers, surpassing last year’s Super Bowl, and thereby breaking the record, yet again, for the most watched television program of all time. The game was viewed in 53.3 million households, with a preliminary 46.0 U.S. household rating.
