Super Bowl 2016 is Sunday, February 7th. This year marks the 50th edition of Super Bowl greatness, and the road to this golden anniversary has been celebrated by the NFL with countdowns and recaps of top Super Bowl moments from years past. Heavy is also counting down the days to Super Bowl 50, and we’ll be bringing you the best and the funniest commercials from the big game. In recent years, more and more companies have released their advertisements on the web well before the championship coin toss.

Doritos is also having an anniversary of sorts. It’s their 10th year doing the Crash the Super Bowl ad contest. It’s also their final one.

Voting for the Doritos Commercials Finalists

Viewers can watch the three finalists from this year’s Doritos Crash the Super Bowl competition online and vote for their favorite video. Voting began on January 4th and runs until January 31st. The winning ad will air during the Super Bowl 2016 broadcast. Not only will the top filmmaker have their clip seen by hundreds of millions of spectators (last year’s Super Bowl game netted 114.4 viewers), they will also win $1,000,000 and be given an opportunity to work with Hollywood director Zack Snyder. Snyder’s next big movie release is Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Here, in random order, are the top three finalists in the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest:

This commercial was created by David Rudy and depicts a guy on a series of Tinder-style dates. The clip features a celebrity cameo from Doris Roberts, who played Ray Barone’s mom Marie on Everybody Loves Raymond, in addition to bit parts played by Marguerite Moreau (Wet Hot American Summer) and Carolyn Hennesy from General Hospital.

Doritos Ultrasound

Our next offering is from Peter Carstairs of Melbourne, Australia – the only finalist from the top three who is not from the United States. The idea to set his commercial in a medical office with an expectant couple getting their ultrasound done came to Peter while his wife was pregnant. The baby shown on the monitor in this short film is a digital enhancement of Peter’s real-life son Freddy, from his ultrasound.

Doritos Dogs

Last but not least, we have three dogs attempting to sneak inside a grocery store in this commercial made by Jacob Chase of Los Angeles, California. Their goal is, of course, to reach the display of Doritos bags that they can see through the window. The furry trio try various ways of entering the market, only to be kicked out each time until they come up with one final plan.

As if you needed another reason to watch Super Bowl 50, you’ll find out which of the above three commercials won the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest!
